The Easter story is about holy hope. As Archbishop Desmond Tutu says, “Nothing could have been more hopeless than Good Friday—but Easter happened, and forevermore we must be prisoners of hope.”* God calls us not to be prisoners of our circumstances, but prisoners of a holy hope, because our Savior Jesus Christ has conquered death and promises abundant life in him, no matter what.

May you have a blessed and hopeful Easter,

The Rev. Paula E. Clark
